There is a woman who needs to move a fox, chicken and chicken feed to the other side of the river. The canoe will only hold her and 2 of the items at a time. She cannot leave the chicken with the fox or it will be eaten, she cannot leave the chicken feed with the chicken or it will be eaten. How can she get all the items across the river?

Hare and the Tortoise

Haretown and Tortoiseville are 30 miles apart. A hare travels at 9 miles per hour from Haretown to Tortoiseville, while a tortoise travels at 1 miles per hour from Tortoiseville to Haretown.

If both set out at the same time, how many miles will the hare have to travel before meeting the tortoise en route?
