Safe Passwords:

• 8 characters long




• numbers


• symbols


• letters


• upper case


• lower case


• punctuation




• Mix it up




• subsitute a number for a letter




• the letter s for the number 5


• example: pa55word




• substitute a symbol for a letter




• the @ for the letter a


• example: p@ssword




• use a random capital letter




• example: pAssword




• use a punctuation mark




• example: password!

Unsafe Choices:

• Name


• Personal information - address, phone number


• Email address or login name


• A random word from the dictionary

Notes:

• Do not write your password down for others to find


• Do not tell anyone your password


• Never give your password to a friend so they can use your account


• Never respond to a phone call or email asking for your passowrd
